SCHEDULE
All Physical Forms Must Be Completed Before Practice Begins

If you are interesting and planning on running X-Country next season, please be aware of the summer commitments that you must make. There will be summer practices, tryout deadlines and cut times that must be made. You will have several tries to run our 3-mile course in under 25:30 minutes. This can be challenging, as it is not the same as just running 3 miles around a track. Our course encompasses several hills up above the football visitor’s bleachers. It is expected that you will be training throughout the summer so that you can accomplish this time. See the course map on our website. The team will be set by August 21nd. At that time, anyone who has not been cleared (physical forms, insurance forms, etc) and has not made the cut time will be dropped to a PE class.
All returnees must make the 25:30 minute time.
This is important to know. Last year several senior girls failed to make the team because they came into the tryouts out of shape.
You will receive a grade for your tryout time. The better the time, the better the grade.
YOU NEED TO BE RUNNING THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER!

the summer, organized practices will consist of meeting in and around San
Clemente for group runs. If you are
unable to make these runs, you need to be running on your own to be in shape
enough to make the tryout time.
